GL.iNet Comet Pro KVM Switch (GL-RM10)

The GL.iNet Comet Pro (GL-RM10) is an advanced KVM switch that provides full remote access to computers, workstations, and servers from anywhere in the world. The device combines remote control functionality with support for Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit Ethernet, 4K@30 FPS video, and two-way audio communication. With its compact design, touchscreen, and the ability to be managed via an app or web browser, the Comet Pro provides convenient access to your equipment without the need to be physically present at the device.

Remote Access via Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet

Comet Pro is GL.iNet’s first desktop KVM device to simultaneously support both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 bands. This allows for remote access without the need to connect an Ethernet cable. The router also supports Gigabit Ethernet, and the ability to operate via both Wi-Fi and a wired network enhances reliability thanks to automatic connection switching in the event of a failure on one of the links.

4K Video and Smooth Real-Time Performance

The device supports 4K@30 FPS video with HD Passthrough, enabling simultaneous local and remote video display. Hardware-based H.264 encoding maintains a low latency of 30–60 ms, ensuring smooth operation during system configuration, server management, BIOS setup, and troubleshooting.

Two-Way Audio and Convenient Management

Built-in two-way audio support enables voice communication between local and remote users. This is particularly useful during remote technical support, training sessions, or online conferences. Additionally, the device features a 2.22-inch touchscreen that allows for quick management of basic functions, such as Wi-Fi configuration and cloud service management.

Access via App, Browser, and Tailscale

The Comet Pro can be controlled using a dedicated app available for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS, or via a web browser through the GLKVM platform. Built-in integration with Tailscale allows for secure access to the device via a private virtual network without the need for complicated configuration. This enables users to manage the device from virtually anywhere with Internet access.

Advanced Security and Self-Hosting

The device supports two-factor authentication (2FA), enhancing the security of access to managed devices. An additional security measure is the touchscreen lock, which uses a 4-digit code. Comet Pro also supports self-hosting on Linux and Ubuntu systems, allowing you to run your own remote access server and maintain full control over your data and infrastructure.

Remote Power Management and Full Hardware Control

Comet Pro works with remote power management accessories, such as the ATX Power Control Board and Fingerbot. This allows you to remotely power on, power off, and restart computers even when the device does not have an active Internet connection. The built-in Wake on LAN feature also enables remote wake-up of computers over the network, which significantly simplifies hardware administration and maintenance.

The device is equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet port, HDMI input and output, a USB Type-C port for connecting a keyboard and mouse, and a USB 2.0 Type-A port.
