The Freewell ND32 / Black Mist 1/4 is a hybrid filter for Real Locking that combines a 5-degree light reduction with a soft light blur effect. This makes it suitable for both bright lighting conditions and creative shots where you want smooth movement and a moody atmosphere. All in one filter - no need to mount two separate elements.

Cinematic effect and working flexibility

The filter gently diffuses light to create a subtle glow around bright spots - ideal for portraits, landscapes and video. It can be used on its own or as a complement to the VND/CPL system, allowing you to achieve up to 10+ degrees of darkening while maintaining polarization control. Such a set will work well for long exposures, dynamic shots, or working in bright sunlight.

Stable mounting and protection from damage

The filter is mounted using the Real Locking snap-on system - just press the side tabs and clip the filter into the base ring or other part of the system. Attachment is fast and reliable. It also comes with a shockproof case to protect the filter from dust, scratches and damage in transit.
